We stopped by Home Depot to pick up something my husband needed. We checked the after Christmas sale to see if they had anything that we might want. We saw a display tree we really liked that said all the trees like it were half price but they didn't have ANY trees at all left in the boxes. My husband asked the lady working there if they were going to sell the displays. She said yes but they hadn't got the prices yet. Here we were thinking it would be half price too. She called the manager who told her to sell it for $57 if we took it right then. WHAT? It had been well over $200. I have never liked the tree we have been using because it was flocked and I have never liked flocked trees. This one is really pretty and looks almost real. Since it was where it couldn't be reached it doesn't have any damage to it. It is only a two-step set up because the stand is attached and just folds when you turn it upside down. So much easier for us. I love real trees but I am allergic to them so that does not make for a happy time.
Two beautiful days after the rains. It is so bright today that it makes my eyes sting. Love those days in winter since January and February are mostly dreary here.
Skinnytaste recipes because my husband will eat them and not complain. He hates eating healthy, he just wants what he grew up on. She has so many things that he eats but with these recipes, he never knows that he is eating healthy and never says a word.
My mother got some amaryllis plants last year marked down after Christmas because they were still pretty and just to see if she could do anything with them. They are fidgety because they have to be replanted every year and stuff. She has always had a green thumb and been able to save seemingly unsavable plants. They were her hobby all Spring and she got a great deal of enjoyment puttering with them. She has been sending me pictures lately and they were absolutely gorgeous this year. Each one of them had 4 big blooms. I think she gave my sister and the two cousins that help her out one each of the ones that were already full for Christmas and kept one herself that only had one bloom at the time. Last night she sent me a picture and it had 4 blooms on it. It was spectacular.
