Even with a flu outbreak in our town and the schools talking about closing for a week, there is still some Tamiflu to be had here. My mother's town ran out early in the outbreak there. When they got some in only the most vulnerable were treated with it. She and my sister are both considered vulnerable so after several people came down with flu that were staying with them at Christmas the pharmacist MADE a big batch of elderberry syrup and had them taking it several times a day. He said he wanted it stronger than anything on the market so he made it. Neither of them got the flu.
While we were out yesterday we noticed daffodils blooming everywhere. So cheerful.
I have had a shoulder bothering me since September. While I have been sick it has got to where it has not been hurting. I used my desktop computer for just a few minutes yesterday looking up something and it hurt all night. My husband walked into the room and made the comment that it was the first time he had seen me there in a while. It got me to thinking. While my desk is just beautiful I have always felt that it was too big for me. I think I need to change my desk out for one that fits me better.
While we were out yesterday we bought a new hot water heater. I guess we will have to wait until everyone feels better to get it installed but at least it is a step in the right direction. Ever since we moved into this house the water heater in our bathroom has been quirky. My husband never noticed it because he takes barely warm showers anyway. I would get showers that ran cold in minutes or showers that never got very warm, to begin with. When he wouldn't listen I would just pay a plumber to put in a new element or thermostat and it would be okay for a time. Twice lately he has only gotten a cold shower, though at other times it is perfect. He decided that the water heater has a problem so he got a new one. Yay! The water heater in the other wing has never given a minute's problem and even with multiple looooong showers and running the dishwasher never runs cold. That is the way ours was supposed to be. Now maybe it will. It kinda bugs me that if he had listened to me it could have been replaced while under warranty.
My husband is now on Medicare so he no longer has our great insurance that paid most of our drug bills. The Tamiflu yesterday was no charge for mine but $114 for his. The nice lady running the register pulled out her phone and checked Well RX, Single Care and Good RX and found that with Good RX it would be only $39 so that is what she charged him. We checked into it when we got home and found that if we had used Kroger pharmacy it would have only been $22 with one of the others. We have downloaded all three apps and will be checking all three before having prescriptions filled in the future.
