Grateful to be alive and that with all the tornados, high winds blowing over trees on houses and cars, flooding, and lightning in so many states there has so far only been 16 poor people that lost their lives. Any life lost is a horrible thing but it is almost a miracle that the number was so low knowing what went on.

The pumper trucks were out as soon as it was daylight pumping the water into the river so that the roads are passable.

The mayor got serious. She had roads blocked off that had high water dangerous to go through or would splash water into houses when people went down them. When people were ignoring the blockades she made an announcement and put it all over social media that anyone found crossing the blockades would be arrested and their vehicle would be left in the waters until they went down enough to get a tow truck in there. There were a few arrested.

We can flush toilets today. Last night the toilets in most of the town wouldn't flush. It was good that it didn't happen until the last day.

Mama had a good turnout for her party and had a great time. Sadly her two remaining children were not able to attend. I know that it looked bad. We were flooded in and my brother's wife had just had major surgery and he was having to care for her even though he just got out of the hospital from having TIAs.
