The clock on the hearth between Adam and the officiate looks similar to the one that was on my grandpa's mantle my whole life. It counted the hour, chimed once on the quarter/three-quarter hour, and had a different chime on the half hour. Grandpa never set an alarm, but if you told him you wanted to wake up at 4:15, he would be there on the dot to wake you up. He always knew what time it was when he woke up without going to the living room, so he must have heard every chime while he slept. I am not sure that was healthy, but true. Mama inherited the clock, but it burned in a house fire shortly after I got married.
