It is 5:50 am in Kansas. Usually I sleep until 6:45 but a big thunderstorm came through waking us all up around 4:40 and of course the dogs needed to go out but wouldn’t due to all the commotion! We tried 3 different times to get them to go out and they refused so I finally got them back to bed. An hour later I woke up sensing the quiet as the storm had finally moved on and was able to get the dogs outside to do their business! Of course they are sound asleep now and I am wide awake-so I decided to pop on here and share some gratitudes!

1. 8 out of the 9 kids I had scheduled yesterday for the Job Prep class showed up! So glad to have that class knocked out. I will still need to do a class for the young man that was absent but I may do it via Zoom.

2. I received another referral for a student to do a summer work program yesterday! This will make 11 new students that I am getting started. It’s good money for my employer as the state pays me to work with these kids. I also have 15 adults that I am working with to find jobs! I am a busy girl!

3. I found a new pair of New Balance shoes I liked yesterday. My foot doctor wanted me to get either Brooks, Hoka, or Saucony’s but I did not like the way any of those shoes felt. They are costing me $174 but will be worth it. Hokas were comfy but they have such a wide toe that I felt like I had clown shoes on! They ordered my shoes as they didn’t have all black which I wanted and they should be arriving in a week.

4. Making better choices with my food and drinking more water. Little steps. I got this!

5. A job I love. I know I say it all the time but how blessed am I to be 67 and get up in the morning excited about going to work.

6. My washer started working again. Remember how I was asking what kind of washer you guys had as mine wouldn’t come on? Well after sitting overnight I tried to start it one more time and it fired right up! Ugh. I’ve done several loads and it is doing good. I guess it (just like myself) just needed to reset itself.

7. Top Chef! Love watching this show. The current season is about to wrap up but I am also going back and watching other seasons. Love that show!

8. The love we have for each other on this board! What a special friendship we have! Love that and all of you ladies!

9. Time to post my gratitudes this morning. I could get up and head to work early but I think I am just going to get up in a little bit and take time for an extra cup of coffee before heading in.

10. The rest of our windows should be in on the 5th! So excited to get them finished and then I will move on to the kitchen!
