about marble but we found a countertop, I think it was some new fangled laminate but it looked just like marble, veins and all. Everyone who came in the house thought it was, even after running their hands over it. We weren't trying to fool people we just liked it and it was not expensive at all. We got it from a private lumber company. Home Depot and Lowes do not sell it, though they do have a marble look laminate but it fools no one. They also had several other colors in the one we got. It was cut like granite and marble is often cut. I think one of the other colors looked and felt like leather. Check around.
