To my understanding, often, as we gain weight or for other reasons, it stops working. Even with a strict food plan and regular exercise, we don't lose much, and then we often start gaining without getting off the plan. As a matter of fact, working harder at it can work against us. Once we get it working, we don't have to work as hard to keep it working. I can remember for about half a minute in the past, they told you to always start a meal with a salad or a broth-based vegetable soup to lose weight, but the nay-sayers shot them down quickly, saying it would just add more calories to a meal. Until now, Serene and Pearl, who did a lot of research and came up with Trim, Healthy, Mama, were the only ones that I have heard talking about hormones in weight loss, and since they are only housewives, the medical community laughed at them. The only problem was that their plan used a lot of strange products that you couldn't get on curbside pick-up at the local grocery store, but they still have a huge, multi-million dollar following of successful dieters.
