My husband is a talker, and so is she. They were talking about clearing things out, they are making an office, and us downsizing and taking a lot of stuff to our lake house where we are building on, and other things. She asked if we could use a headboard and footboard. We don't have any at the lake, just got an adjustable bed for each room, and haven't gotten around to decorating yet. She wanted it gone today, but it is about to rain, and she didn't want it ruined. But most scavengers only come around on Sunday afternoon when people put things out for trash pickup the next day. She asked if we could use it at the lake. We said yes. She gave us an Ethan Allen queen-sized bed framethat looks new.
Grandson got a new SUV at a great price for his wife to drive. Their's was stolen several months ago and totaled. He has a company truck, so she has been driving his truck since, but his new job won't provide a truck; they do mileage. Glad that they could find something in their price range.
The house is getting to the point that it is not so overwhelming anymore. So grateful.
The garden is getting to the point that it is not so overwhelming anymore, too. My husband loves gardening, but has not embraced year-round gardening and spacing planting to not have everything come in at once. When we start getting vegetables and fruit, even with a tiny garden, it all comes at once and has to be canned or frozen immediately. I have about half a 5-gallon bucket of pears to cut up and deal with, then most of it will be over. The pear tree at the office was full of beautiful, big, juicy pears, but they started falling one day, and we went to pick them the next, and they were gone. Nothing on the ground and only this small bit on the treee. I guess some of the people who live behind the office who walk through to go to the store or fast food places in front of us got them. You know what? I am grateful that someone who could use them got them. I love them fresh, but don't care much for canned or frozen pears, just a little preserves or pear butter.
