Here is what I said below on your post about getting one. It is just a cautionary on how you use your kitchen/sink. One of the first things that cropped up for me is that when I am cooking, I always like to fill one side of the sink and wash up tools and pots, and pans as I finish with them. Even though I bought dishwasher-safe cookware, it never looks good after going through the dishwasher. I like to wash all my knives by hand to keep them sharp longer. Some of my cooking tools are so long that I like to wash them by hand. That means that in the farm sink, I have to have a separate dishpan and a place to store it. Using my kitchen all the time, even when keeping it clean and putting away all the devices and appliances that I don't use every day, my kitchen doesn't look like a picture, so I find that a farm sink is a total waste of money. Hindsight is 20/20. Just figure out how you use your kitchen to see if it is worth the extra before tying up a lot of money on the look and regretting it all. If it is just the two of you and you don't use your kitchen hard or have lots of people over often, it may be just what you need and worth it. My last house before this one had a black granite sink in it. It matched the kitchen, but I didn't like the look of it when looking at the house, and planned to change it. When I used it, I loved it. My daughter and SIL bought the house, and after a year, he got rid of the granite sink and put in a stainless steel sink because when he tossed things into the sink, they broke.lol He hated it. It is just all in the use.
What I said:
I know everyone is different, but I hope that the farmhouse sink is worth all the extra money, work, and stress. Though they are lovely and I fell in love with the look, I was disappointed. It just does not function well for how I use my sink. If you don't do a lot of cooking, especially for lots of people, and don't can or have multiple people in the kitchen at the same time, you may love it. My son wanted one very badly, too, but he changed his mind the first time he used it. Not trying to be a Debbie Downer, just saying assess your needs from a sink first before getting one.
What I need is a triple sink. LOL One of my aunts had one once, and I loved it. She didn't cook and rarely even went into her kitchen except to use the trash compactor, so it was wasted on her.
