I can so relate. I used to think that grumpy old men was just a joke, or a movie. When my husband had to have triple by-pass he got really grouchy and I understood that. It was a scary time for both of us. When he had the pulmonary problems after surgery and kept having to have thoracentesis every couple of weeks and a lung surgery, I could understand that. Even now, over 8 years later, my sweet funny guy is almost always missing and the stranger that is left turns into a monster when he realizes that something about his body has changed or slowed down or that he can't do something as well or as long as he used to. It's all high drama for him and I am seeing that it is for a lot of the men that is in my circle, too.
I feel sorry for you because it can come out of nowhere, sometimes for the silliest (to us) reason. Just know that you have somewhere to unload when it all gets dumped on you. I am sure that several of us can understand how it is with aging men, especially those that have other health problems, too. Hang in there, Beverly.
