Deciding on which insurance I will use next year. I hate the job of all that comparison work. I also hate other people doing it for me, so there you have it.
Our next-to-youngest grandson drove our youngest grandson to the other side of Memphis. Forty-five minutes each way in heavy (usually crazy) traffic. It is nerve-wracking, but we have to cut the apron strings sometime. I wouldn't have felt nearly as good about it if there weren't so many State Troopers and National Guard working in Memphis right now. Everything seems so much calmer right now than it usually is. It's as if they've rolled back the clock.
I am really grateful that Tennessee's governor overrode the city and county mayors and sent in all the police and National Guard. It is as if they are either in with the cartels or taking bribes because they don't let the local police arrest people for theft, racing on the interstate and city streets, causing wrecks and running over people, dealing drugs, and don't try to serve warrants, and let those that do get arrested go on no-cash bail, never to be seen again. No wonder crime is so high. Memphis hasn't felt so safe in years, and now they are trying to sue the governor and find ways to get rid of all the extra help. I hope everyone is paying attention and will remember this when it is time to vote again.
Vanderbilt football this year. I have always kinda rooted for them because they have always been the underdog. So far this year, they have won every game, except against Alabama. They are still not in the top 10, but it is good to see them winning and no longer an underdog. I may have to find a new underdog to root for.
