Today has been a full day. I am grateful that I was up for it.

Had to go in this morning for a full pre-surgical workup just to have an endoscopy and colonoscopy done. These people were serious about it. It was a better workup than I have had for some major surgeries. My Gastro-doc moved away at the end of last year; I had to get a new one. This new one is afraid to use anesthesia on me in their day surgery facility across the street from the hospital, and wants to do it in the hospital ambulatory facility. He is pulling out all the stops. Scares me a bit, except for the fact that my old doc did my last ones a couple of weeks after getting my device. Just routine, easy peasy and all was fine. This guy wants me at a hospital, wants my CPAP there for recovery, what is he GIVING me?

Got my teeth cleaned. My dentist moved over an hour across town. I like him so well that I will drive it twice a year. I also like the area that he practices in and all his staff.

Our 16-year-old grandson got a friend, and they went to the rental house that was just vacated and took up all the carpets and pads, putting them on the curb, and cleaned the whole house and garage while we were gone. Yes, they went to school, but they are homeschooled and only have one college class this semester that they went to. Yes, we did get him to come by, and we paid them for their work, but he just took the initiative to do it because we were busy all day. I am telling you, we have GREAT grandchildren and they have some great friends.

I have always loved the town where my dentist is now and have long wished that I could live there. The old main road has the most beautiful houses (mansions) over 100 years old that are just gorgeous to see, but even though urban sprawl has hit it over the past 20 years, it is still slower-paced and has the friendliest people of any area of the whole metro area. As we were driving through today, my husband said that he thought, since we can't find anything that we like where we have been looking, that he would like to buy some land and build there. Blew me away, but I am so on board with that. I have had a house plan that I love for ages. We will see but right now I am excited that he is leaning that way.
