With all the reading that I do, the takeaway is that any time people are overweight, especially women, it messes with hormones and often makes us very sensitive to carbs. I have seen a lot of things that keeping carbs between 15 g and 30 g per meal is a good point to reach for to not make our bodies store fat until we can reset our systems. How long it takes to reset is different from person to person, but most can eventually tolerate more carbs if they heal their bodies. It's certainly worth a try.
