This year has been crazy with food. When I hurt my hip, I was eating too much as usual. Murray first started to not feel well in August. I was taking good care of him... running around. He went into hospital the first time.... my eating was not good. I would binge and then do ok for a few days or so. As things progressed with Murray... my eating became worse and worse. When he was in the acute care section and pulmonary sections and was not taking my medications responsibly. My stomach felt worse and worse. It didn't change right after he died. My stomach, mouth and throat were burning, my bowels weren't happy. It was so bad, I didn't know what to do. It felt like reflux hit by lightning. It is a extreme flare.
I stopped dairy about 10 days before Thanksgiving - learning along the way what I could eat or not. Thankfully, it has calmed down a bit. Trying to get protein every day is difficult. I have tried sheeps milk, and soy products. Can't stomach it. Never could stomach vegan protein. But, now I am eating rice, poultry, eggs, fish, oatmeal, apple sauces, bananas. saltines, almond milk, and a few other things. It's helping some.
I have my colonoscopy in 2 weeks. It will be interesting what the doctor has to say. I am very nervous about it!!
My gastro doctor is retiring at the end of the year. My PA's cancer has returned and she is not coming back, sadly. So, I guess I'll get who I get in the practice. I can request a doctor... but, don't know much about the other doctors or PA's.
Maybe some research.
