because they are the only ones that my dentist takes in-network, but they don't offer insurance to my zip code, since our medical team is in three states. I understand their point of view since it can be a nightmare to keep up with, but they could streamline that and force us to choose doctors and hospitals in one state, but then people wouldn't go because they wouldn't want to lose their favored doctors/dentists/eye care. I wish there were a better way, but when the government is involved instead of oversight, it is going to be crazy. A receptionist told me that Aetna is the only insurance that offers them payments that are not crazy. She said that dental cleanings, they pay about what it costs the office, but most other insurances pay about $25, mine paid $36. They can't keep the doors open if they sign on to that.
