I hope that the new handyman works out well. Pickings are getting slim around here these days. Most are like the one who gave you the estimate in November. We got an estimate to paint the inside of a three-bedroom house. One guy admitted he was pretty new at it, but gave an estimate of $23,000. Yep, that was not a typo. My husband flat-out told him that he was way too high. That was a month ago. This week, he called back and asked when he could start because he needed money. My husband explained that he had already told him that he was way out of line on price and would have to come down a lot to work for us. He said he has to charge so much because he is so good. My husband told him he is probably too good to make a living at painting. He didn't understand.
I totally get the Bill thing. My husband has a habit of doing that for several years now. We have had the talks, and nothing works. Happens almost every time. I have finally realized that it is more about who he is than about what he thinks about me, and I try to let it roll off, but like you, sometimes it infuriates me so much that it leads to a fight. Try to relax. The remote simply does not work on assholes. I've tried.
