I heard the security cameras ay home going off this afternoon while I was at work and when I checked to see what was going on, I saw Ken looking inside the dishwasher over and over. I spoke to him over the cameras to ask him what he was doing and he said there was water pouring out of the dishwasher and he couldn’t get it to turn off. I ran home and found the kitchen/dining room and my living room with standing water! We couldn’t get the water shut off, so I called the neighbor across the street and he came over and was able to shut it off down in the lower level at the hot water tank. He thought the frozen pipe that was going into the dishwasher was what thawed and then burst!

Of course our shop vac wasn’t working very well so I called another neighbor to borrow their shop vac. Ken isn’t able to do very much as he was already worn out by the time I got home from trying to get the water off, so I started the process of getting this standing water picked up. I was just sick as it was covering my new floors! It cleaned up fairly well and I am hoping it didn’t stand long enough to do any real damage. I guess time will tell. I called Jessica to see if she and her husband could come over and help me and they did. It took 3 - 3 1/2 hours but we finally got it done. I had most of the water up by the time they got there-but we had to move furniture and get the water from under them. I was hurting so much by the time it was all over! I am still doing laundry as Ken was throwing blankets and towels down to try to soak up the water.

The plumber is coming tomorrow morning and knows what happened today, so he should have all the materials needed on hand.

I am so grateful that it wasn’t worse and that I have good neighbors and the kids to come over and help.

Please say a prayer for us that we can get everything fixed and that no major damage has been done.
