The tractor was still at the house, and he had not taken the blade off the front when he put the backhoe on the back to dig the water line. He bundled up and used the tractor to scrape the driveway. He just kept finding places to scrape until he got cold. It helped him to get out of the house.
He is out there right now scraping out an 80+ year old neighbor's drive. I hope it doesn't backfire. The neighbor grew up north and thinks he can drive on the ice and snow. Once he can walk to his garage, where his truck is, he will be driving everywhere. The truth is that he drives very badly on dry roads. I just hope he stays home.
One of our renters called to say that the awning over her patio fell today and took the siding and door trim with it. Crossing my fingers, that is the worst of it. As bad as this freeze was, we will most likely get some burst pipes.
The bowl cozies that I made a few years ago. We get so much use out of them. I made some for all the kids, and they have really enjoyed theirs, too. My DIL loves hers so much that she wants to learn to make them for co-workers next year.
