After two weeks of near or below freezing temperatures, the oak trees finally gave up, and the leaves they were still overly endowed with fell to the ground at once. They have been so late, as well as pesky this year, dropping leaves over and over and over. My husband and all the neighbors took advantage of the warm temps yesterday afternoon to run their mulching mowers over the yards, grinding the leaves to mulch. The neighborhood looks so nice now, and leaves don't blow into the house every time the door opens.
My husband had to fast yesterday for his scan, so we stopped next door to the cardiology building and had breakfast after his scans were finished. I had an omelet and French toast since they had sugar-free syrup on the table. It was higher in calories than usual, at almost 600, but I only had that and dinner, so it all washed out. They also didn't put sugar into their French toast. I felt like I was indulging, but didn't go over calories or carbs.
A plumber did not connect a faucet correctly in one of the rental houses. It came loose from the pipe while they were away, flooding the floors that are not even a year old. Plumber refused to do anything about it. Our insurance adjuster inspected it and said that they would pay to have the flooring in the whole house replaced, as well as mold remediation, and then they would go after the plumber. First time EVER it has been that easy, but we don't have the money in hand yet. Hopefully, it will arrive on time as soon as the new is installed.
I have my annual wellness check tomorrow for insurance. I went into my portal to do the pre-check-in because they have a stack of papers to go through there. Just checking over all the papers online took almost 30 minutes. They just have way too many questions these days that they never look at anyway. My gratitude is that it is done. Planning to go shopping with my daughter after it is over. Lately, I haven't gotten to shop anywhere but Home Depot and Lowe's. It will be fun to spend another day together.
