The same grandson will be going to Scotland next week for some kind of international school competition. I am grateful for the opportunity for him, but kinda nervous because of the war right now.
Our new community. We went to a neighborhood POA meeting on Tuesday to meet everyone. They are all so friendly. Instead of telling people what to do in their own houses, their rule is: don't do anything that will make it stand out too much, but they still have several get-togethers a year. They have meetings to plan them.
We got some new appliances in yesterday. My husband was unpacking them in the garage, and a neighbor came by, stopped, and helped. We were going to wait on our kids over the weekend, but the neighbor decided that they were going to do it right then. He went to one neighbor and got a heavy-duty dolly, called another neighbor, and they brought the oven in yesterday afternoon, got it set up and ready to use by dinner time. Today, they both came back and started bringing in the refrigerator. A couple of teens and another guy stopped by and helped. Everybody pitches in here, and they are so friendly.
This morning we had a company come in to see if we need more insulation and to see if the ductwork was leaking or anything. Two neighbors saw the truck and the open door and came to watch and sign up to get theirs done. This is a true community.
On a more serious note, we need your prayers. The heart center called my husband late this afternoon to let him know that his PET scan showed that one of the arteries he had grafted in 2016 is not functioning. He has to have a heart cath to see if it is clogged with plaque or scar tissue. They said that hopefully it is something they can put a stent in while they are in there and not have to do another open-heart surgery. I guess we will get the date for the cath tomorrow or Monday.
