The nurse from the surgical center called later to go over things with him and told him that she would be his nurse when he got there. She said he was approved.
His Cardiologist's nurse called at 12:50 to say it was off for tomorrow because they didn't have insurance approval. He told her that he had approval, and she argued with him and told him that someone would have to call later and reschedule. He called insurance. It was approved just after 8 AM, and she even called. Procedure still off. I guess someone younger with better insurance was slotted in his place. I am finding that with Medicare and at our age, we don't matter anymore. We are always slotted over and pushed back. This is something that his cardiologist thought was important to get done ASAP, yet it has been 15 days, Now it will sometime in April or later. This is a huge heart institute that is also a training facility that is turning out some of the top-rated surgeons in the country, and it still takes forever to get anything done. Before we got Medicare, we could usually get a procedure like this done within two days. Yes, I'm emotional. Sorry for taking it out on you ladies.
