You might need to go slower than you want. Plan on it, if you can. Paris has electric mobolity scooters to rent. Or, maybe take a cab everywhere. If you need to go 8 blocks...take a cab. Make things as easy on yourself as possible. Use a cane.... it can be very helpful.
