The Borghese gardens cover 200 acres, so I took golf cart tour. SO much history. Much of it dating back to the 12th Century!
Later, I went to Piazza Navona. I often read on travel sites that it's the place to stay but I don't see why. I did buy a painting by a street artist selling his work. I was on the lookout for something to go up in a certain space in my office. I'll take a pic of it later.
Rain is supposed to set in around 1 so plan to do a Rick Steve's audio walk, starting in Campo Fiori. Maybe I'll go to a museum this afternoon.
One pic I'll post is post Crucifixion. I.was.especially touched by the depiction of Mary and the 3 crosses in the distance.
Another favorite is the sculpture of the man carrying hus father on his shoulders while his son holds on to his side. Look at the way the 'skin' was sculpted, from the smoothness of the child, the fullness of the man's and the aging in the father. That was just amazing to me.
The views of the distance are from the Gardens Borghese.
