Spent most of yesterday resting (drinking lots of water, fluid pills and stool softeners...LOL...life goes on).
I went to the Louvre for a 6:30 entrance time. It is 80O,000SF! I made it through one room! Stairs everywhere though there are some elevators. It is not my back that is causing me so many mobility issues. It's my weight and lack of conditioning! I could kick myself in the arse for not dealing with this the months leading up to the trip but, no more griping.
After the Louvre, I stopped at a café along the way home. I hadn’t eaten much on this day of rest and detoxing so was hungry. Had a wonderful omelet with brie and a side salad, along with a tall champagne and something else drink. The waiter asked if I wanted a short or tall one. I chose tall!
I could have gotten a taxi back to the apartment but I wanted to walk if I could, so I set out. There is NOTHING I love more about being here than wandering, especially at night. My pics can't convey the magic of this. I walked about 1 1/2 half miles back to the apartment with stops along the way. It was lovely and I'm so happy I could manage it.
I think of Cindyh and Joan, especially, when I post pics of Jesus and Mary. Cindyh, I think you would love this one of Virgin of Sorrows.
The crucified Christ was eerie. I stood right by the face. His eyes were partly open. I told Carin, I thought he might actually open them and get up. That's how realistic they are. Carin asked me whether or not that would get me back to church. LOL DEFINITE YES to that.
