Didn't gain any weight. 258. It's all the walking and just being on my feet so much.
These trips are all like a dream when I get home. Like, there will be 'flashes' of moments, big and small, of me being somewhere, encountering someone, experiencing something. It's not linear...flashes. When I look at my pics, I remember how I felt in that moment, emotionally, physically.
Now, it's time for 18 months of austerity. I have debt to pay off! Added some work hours. So lucky to be able to be able to do that.
Trying to reconcile how much my age vs my deconditioned self impacts how I manage these trips. They are hard on my body but, also, I'm not as quick as figuring things out as I used to be. I mean, figuring out how to use showers, coffee makers, elevators, washing machines, subways, busses, etc. I'm not as confident in my abilities and, fortunately, there was help whenever I needed it. I wondered sometimes if I looked like an overweight, addled old lady with a cane! People would offer help without being asked. No complaints here at all. Just self-monitoring changes as I age. And, for the first time, I looked older. I did and not asking you gals to say that's not true! You know, I live in a world filled with self-reflection with clients and my own life. I've been so lucky to be able to do what I've done!
