My Tropicana rose is only about 14" tall since it froze back to the ground this year, but it has blooms on it. That means all my roses made it and bloomed true to variety. Sometimes when they freeze back, they bloom another color because they are grafted and the 'mother' comes through.

One of the ladies down the street fell yesterday and broke her hip. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital and had surgery. She had PT today. So grateful for how far medicine has come. When Grandma broke her hip, they couldn't do anything for her except bed rest; she died during the night because all her organs shut down. Now, not only are they able to stop that chemical reaction that shuts down the organs in most people if they get to it in time, but people can walk the next day instead of being bed-bound for 6 weeks or longer.

Tomorrow is our 51st anniversary. I can't believe we have been together that long.

My husband has finally found a painter who does very good work and is reasonable, instead of wanting 5 times what they were getting 3 months ago. He has decided to let him paint all the trim work as well as the living room and kitchen. So glad that he had decided to let someone else do this. It will be finished so much sooner now.

It is looking like most of the projects will be completed in 3-4 weeks if the weather cooperates.
