The easiest way to avoid regrets is to ask yourself this question, "If not now, when?" It's a powerful way to put life and our decisions about how we spend our time into perspective"

I had my mammogram today. I love the new digital machines, they don't hurt nearly as much as the old ones and since a computer is comparing it to last years my results were ready by the time I got dressed. "Everything looks great. See you next year." I love hearing that after 5 years of bi-yearly testing with the old machines and ultrasound. |
I think I got all my Christmas shopping finished yesterday in the first place I went, no less. I had been looking since Thanksgiving for something that my daughter had wanted. I couldn't order it online because everyone was out but said some of the stores here had them in stock. I tried before but those were out or never got them. Tried one yesterday and there they were, a Whole case of them still. Yay! I then found everything else on my list there even though I had already been to several of this store's locations without finding anything on my list. Another yay! I need to pick up 4 gift cards that I am going to Kroger to get so I can get 4X gas points to save money on gas and I will be finished.
My son's doggie is healing well. A few days ago they found he had several massive masses in his abdomen. One of them burst and they had to decide to put him down or do immediate surgery. The vet was not hopeful, said 98% of the time it was a particularly aggressive and invasive cancer. They got the biopsies back today and none of them were cancerous and he is beginning to already want to be goofy and play with them again. He has always loved his animals but this one he has always been particularly close to.
My sweet DIL came by to visit tonight and bring me something that she picked up that she thought I would like. I love it.
My mom is feeling better. She had thought for a few days that she was getting another cold. When I talked to her yesterday it was one of my cousin's days off and she had called to ask Mama if she would like for her to come to paint her nails for her. She was there when I called and Mama was eating it up. Mama and her three youngest sisters were always really close and all of us cousins grew up in each other's pockets. Since she has lost all her sisters the sisters' children have basically adopted her. They do for her as they did for them moms a lot of the time. Even the ones that live out of town come to do things with her when they come to town.

Still under 260. I WILL not cross that line! |
Last appt today. Surgery discharge went well. He said it will take about 3 months for everything to heal but that I'm doing great. Dentist today.
Took Charlie for his annual yesterday. My little guy is almost 20 pounds overweight. She is sure that is being caused by the Cushing's disease. She hasn't formally diagnosed it because I wasn't going to pay for the treatment and all that goes with monitoring it. It's very expensive. She did blood work and his cortisol is 1800 when it should be around 200. Last year it was in the 300s so this is getting worse fast. I thought she agreed with me that he is too old to pursue tx but she was more ambivalent yesterday. She sent urine off for a more sophisticated test to get the diagnosis for sure. She said that Cushing's wouldn't kill him but the side effects would be hard on him-more weight gain (he has trouble getting up now and there is nothing I can do. I don't feed him people food, he gets less of the weight control than is really recommended, some dog treats but not enough to account for any of this). Sigh...............
Sunny but cold...in the 20s
The holidays will soon be over. I have no plans for Christmas, no gifts to buy and wrap, no family coming to visit or me going to see them. Nada
Glad the doctor is optimistic

Less pain? I'm glad to hear the doc said that you are doing great. Are you feeling great? Are you back to work full hours now? I hope things are MUCH MUCH better for you post op!|

1. Today is the last day I work until after Christmas! Thankful for some time off with pay. |
2. My phone interview with WW went well. Now I wait as they send their notes on up the line to the territory manager and supposedly she will call and set up a second interview if they are interested.
3. Ben is doing well at his job!
4. So many crazy treats are coming into the office for Christmas. Very grateful to have the willpower to snap pictures of them and then walk away!
5. Time spent with Ken. Love this man of mine! I bought us an Echo Dot yesterday because Ken wanted one and I found a great deal on one at Kohlís. So fun to listen to Ken interact with Alexa!
Enjoy your time off.

Enjoy your vacation! How wonderful! |

I made the decision to take next Thursday and Friday off work as well, so now I wonít go back until the 2nd! 13 days off! And with using my discretionary day, the 3 days off for Christmas our boss gave us, and New Yearís Day off, I only had to use 4 vacation days of my own to get almost 2 weeks off! Thatís a win in my books! |
Glad the interview went well!

They are nuts if they don't find a way to use your experience and personality! |
The Echo things are cool, aren't they?
Is your agency closed over the holiday or are you just taking a vacation? Congrats on the willpower. I've had none.
Awwww... thank you Paula...

How sweet of you to say that! It could be a couple of weeks before I hear back from them due to their offices being closed for the holiday, but I will let you know what I hear! |
As for the time off..we get the 23rd, 24th, and 25th off as a paid holiday as well as New Yearís Day. Then I have a discretionary day that I always use on New Years Eve. I had planned on taking tomorrow and the 30th off by using a couple of vacation days, but this afternoon, I decided to clear my calendar on the 26th and 27th and use a couple more vacation days and get a 13 day vacation by only using 4 days!

1) got a nice card, $50 gas card and $35 grocery store card (for turkey) from the radio station yesterday. Nice to be appreciated like that! |
2) off Saturday with Ray - that'll be nice!
3) one of the things I ordered for Ray that I thought would be late is coming Monday. It's a grilling grats for the Ninja Foodie. It'll be a cool surprise!
4) an old old friend (from KMart era where I worked when I was 15 - 20) dropped by a fresh home made raspberry pie with real whipped cream at the radio station yesterday. He's also a listener! It was a lovely surprise! (Thanks Tim!)
5) Dad and Paul enjoyed Boney M on Tuesday night. There were here in concert.
Love those cards with money!!
