The easiest way to avoid regrets is to ask yourself this question, "If not now, when?" It's a powerful way to put life and our decisions about how we spend our time into perspective"

A new year.

New beginnings in so many senses of the word. |
I will make this my year to turn my eating back around and undo the damage from emotional eating of last year.
I will get back in the pool. Everything hurts so much but I know this is gentle.
I want to check in here more and not lurk as much.
So grateful for each and every one of you
Happy New year
New Year's Day Grats!

My appointment with the doctor finally came yesterday about this back/stomach pain that I have been having for about three months that is constantly getting worse. I had some back and stomach X-rays and blood tests. She didn't see anything that jumped out on the X-rays but those and the blood tests results will be back next week. In the meantime, she has me on muscle relaxers and steroids. If that helps okay, if not it's on to MRI, possibly PET and other tests. At least it is a start. |
Getting to watch the Rose Bowl Parade today. I have missed it for a few years somehow. I am amazed by what they can do with flowers! There is a lot of talent behind those floats.
Making an old southern black-eyed peas and greens supper tonight and my kids and some friends are coming. Wasn't planned but I kept getting calls asking me if I was making black-eyed peas this year and could they come.
Texting with my mother, brother, sister, son and daughter last night for over an hour beginning just before midnight. All these texts started chiming in and it was wild trying to keep up with who I was texting with because they kept overlapping but fun and nice to be together, sort of.
Spotting loons on the lake. We don't see those often. At first, I thought it was just ducks until I got a closer look.

Made it through another year. Thank You, Jesus. |
We decided to stay home for New Year's Eve and celebrate in front of the TV. Chrissy and Dana joined us for a while
Our wonderful neighbors are Filipino, and Maria is an excellent cook. They brought us over several plate of delicious ethnic foods. Soooo good. Sooo appreciated.
The neighborhood fireworks were horrendous....the most ever! My grateful is that I gave Benadryl to Sophie at dinnertime, and she was fairly calm during all the ruckus.
Nothing has to be done today....football and chillin'.

Checking in with Krista on the radio last night. |
My post to Charlie on FB. Find it if you can. I did it mostly for posterity.
My mood is so much lighter these days, not all the time but there are periods of time where I just feel happy for no particular reason. It can't be circumstances because I've gained, probably, 12 pounds of what I lost and I've spent a ton of money that I shouldn't have just because I've had easy access to my retirement savings.
New calendars. None made from my photos because I didn't go anywhere in 2019 but one is of Andalusia where I hope to go in the Fall.

1) am going to limit my auction time to ensure that I am making a reasonable wage for the time I spend. Love it but it's taken over |
2) you ladies - you are incredible and I admire each one of you
3) Paula tuned in for a bit last night and I shouted her out. Thank you Paula! That meant alot
4) busy but fun night at the radio station. Ray was there with me (he doesn't want to talk on radio though LOL) and we had lots of callers / texters and gave away 9 prizes
5) faced the scale to start the year - 245. Goal is 199 but I"ll take it on in 10 lb "chunks". I can do this. I've done it before and I can again
It was fun checking in with you!

You are such a natural and so good at that. I don't think people get how much energy it takes and how organized a person has to be to do that job well!|
Thank you Paula
