Back IN ICU Posted by Krista on 4/9/2025, 6:49 pm We got a call this morning around 9 am that his C02 levels had doubled in the past 2 days. When we got to the hospital he was not conscious and the doc said if they didn't move him to ICU he would die. 15 minutes later he was on the way there. His CO2 levels have gone down quite a bit - they are checking hourly but our concern and I am sure theirs as well is how can they prevent this from happening again. I'm exhausted as I am sure my brother is. Had to call radio to get boss to cover my shift. I don't know what tomorrow will bring

Brother just called ICU for update. I got a good night's sleep so that helps. Back out there for 10 am - hopefully he will be open eyes again. Thank you for your prayers and friendship.

10 am alive again Posted by Krista on 4/10/2025, 9:45 pm, in reply to "So glad for this update…" Thanks to ICU his C02 levels were down again and he was awake when we arrived. Another doctor said there are lung and heart issues that have to be balanced out, then we get him back on his feet, and then back HOME living life before they deal with the cancer. It was the first doc that we felt some optimism from rather than doom and gloom. Onward!

Exhausting Posted by Paula on 4/11/2025, 10:44 am, in reply to "10 am alive again" I think all of us have gone through this up/down, back/forth of the health of our aging parents until the end. I found it exhausting and anxiety-producing. You lost your mom so young and I don't remember too many details or maybe you never shared them. It was related to her MS, wasn't it? How old were you, Krista? Lots of hugs and love.
