Friday Gratefuls Posted by delta on 4/25/2025, 5:14 pm, in reply to "Friday *can't believe it's Friday already* grats" The boys got the water line finished and the water back on in our wing last night. We still have to pour the concrete today than lay the tile back. The boys said they would back Monday to help put the cabinets and countertop back. Just glad that they could do it. As my husband was telling my daughter, we would have had to hire someone to take out the counter and countertop, someone to take up the tiles and sawcut the concrete, someone to dig out the dirt and find the lines, a plumber to find the leak and put in a new pipe then all those people to put things back together again because plumbers don't do all the other stuff. It's tough when you have plumbing in a slab to get everyone coordinated. It could have taken weeks before we could have had hot water in that wing of the house, including the laundry room. Flowers are gorgeous this year. Granddaughter-in-law was here yesterday and started hurting badly enough that the grandson took her to the ER. With medications, she was able to pass a kidney stone and get more meds for pain and a UTI that had developed. She is feeling much better today. Mama said her dizziness was better yesterday, so the meds probably made her dizzy. It makes me uncomfortable when she gets dizzy living by herself. Grandkids who like to be around us. So far, 3 out of five have been here today, and one is staying the night. The other two live an hour away but they show up frequently also.

There is a technical school as well as a branch of the state college here that kids can take courses in while still in high school and they took advantage of it. The middle one took welding and never looked back. He has been welding ever since. This was the first year for her youngest son, who just turned 16. He took two college courses and got all the courses and testing for welding, though he can't get his certification until he is 18, he has everything to turn in to get it. He also apprentices with a master mechanic in his free time because he wants to learn how to work on his own vehicle when he gets one. They all have an understanding and abilities in many aspects of construction, just from going to work with their grandfather and helping out with age-appropriate jobs since they were knee-high. The oldest racked up several certifications. The ones I can remember are welding, woodworking, HVAC, golf course design and maintenance, real estate (he is set for the licensing test soon), and is taking IT now. He has worked in all these fields as he took the courses. He is also certified to test the contents of barges for the government. He is 23 and still taking college courses as well as courses at the technical college in addition to working full time. The oldest and youngest are hyper, driven, and love to learn. We have to slow them down sometimes to keep them from getting burned out. Our son's son is more into studies than technical things but he can and will help out. He has wanted to be a marine biologist since he was small. He can start taking college and/or technical courses next year. I am sure he will choose college courses.

They wanted to do June 18 but I declined as that is my 60th birthday and I don’t want to spend it in pain. Going for my eye exam this afternoon Going to St Louis tomorrow for the day as a small get away since we did not get to celebrate our 16th anniversary last week on the 19th with everything Easter. I will order my glasses at Costco and we will have a nice dinner somewhere Beautiful weather! Cindy’s son got married!! All of you lovely ladies

Krista's dad is improving Cindyh gets her ablation Heat pump installers are here Surgery scheduled for June 4th. I am anxious about whether or not Aetna will authorize it wit me going BACK to PT. That would just drag this out unnecessarily.
