Do a search on Amazon for wiping aids for toileting and scroll down. They have them at price points from $4.99 up to over $50.00, many of them the same device for multiple prices. According to my mother, they worked when she had a broken back and also after back surgery.

You wrapped toilet paper around the end of it and wiped. It was supposed to eject the soiled paper. I'll see what else is out there. I thought about using it to dry but would have little pieces of wet tp clinging to my bum.

At least that is what Mama switched to when she was sidelined. It might be possible to buy some gauze in a long roll and cut it to fit the thingy also before time for surgery. There is one that is like BBQ tongs that you could actually use with a cloth. Hey, dual uses. After surgery, use it for the grill. ROTFL
