The easiest way to avoid regrets is to ask yourself this question, "If not now, when?" It's a powerful way to put life and our decisions about how we spend our time into perspective"

What are you grateful for today?
My Monday Gratitude

A peaceful Mother's day at the lake. Our daughter came up for a couple of days but they left early in the morning so she could be back for her kids. My son had planned to cook a lovely meal for me but my husband didn't get finished with whatever he was working on so we didn't get back in time. I was rather disappointed that I didn't get to spend time with my son and family but it was very peaceful here yesterday.
Life at the lake is very simple and stripped down. I am finding that I feel more like my authentic self like that. Our lives otherwise are too full. To full of stuff, stress, noise, crime, food, going...just too much of everything.
I am getting back to simpler foods, too and finding that it is a lot more satisfying. For years I have chased after "healthy" recipes that have pages of ingredients that have been deemed healthy, trying to save a calorie or two or fat or carbs, but are full of fake foods from a lab. I used to be able to cook for days on end without even pulling out a recipe. Any recipe I used could fit on an index card in 1 card file box. The foods were all grown in the ground or walked on the ground, created by God for real nourishment. Family and friends used to love my cooking and now everyone turns up their noses at the "diet" foods that even I have to get used to the taste of by sheer willpower. It's over. Real foods taste better and do not leave me craving more food like the highly processed foods. Cooking is a lot easier, too.
My daughter had me try some Laura Geller makeup every day while she was here. I stopped wearing makeup several years ago because I just couldn't find any that looked good on my aging skin, especially in the high humidity we usually have here. I really liked it. Didn't cake, settle into cracks or create streaks. I got a lot of compliments when wearing it too. Made me break down and order my own. We'll see.
We had a lot of rain Saturday night, early Sunday then again early this morning but so far no thunder, lightning or tornado warnings. First time in 5 or 6 weeks.
I think it has the marbled foundation but not sure. I know it made my skin feel a lot better than just moisturizer. I think it may make me go back to taking better care of my skin. I have been pretty basic since I quit wearing make up.
wanting to try it since I first saw it but didn't want to have to throw all of it out if it turned out to not be something I could use. I hate throwing money away. I like how fast it is, too!
