Crazy scary tornado near us…. Posted by Cindy on 5/19/2025, 2:32 am We are downstairs in our lower level watching the weather on tv. The town of Plevna which is 27 miles from Hutch took a direct hit. There was a huge tornado wedge that was 2 miles wide that has been moving through the state for 3 hours! Hate this time of year with these storms.

We didn't even have tornado watches but some late afternoon thunderstorms popped up and just south of us in Mississippi they had tornado warnings suddenly. They kept on into Alabama. I don't know if any touched down in populated areas or not, yet. They were about 7 miles from my son's house.

Yes we are safe… Posted by Cindy on 5/19/2025, 9:04 am, in reply to "Prayers Cindy" The tornados went around us and then dissipated further north. I was getting ready for bed when a friend texted and told me to be on watch. We had no idea things were getting bad! I got to bed finally at 2 but had trouble falling a sleep. 7:00 am came pretty quickly!
