The easiest way to avoid regrets is to ask yourself this question, "If not now, when?" It's a powerful way to put life and our decisions about how we spend our time into perspective"

Had my pre-surgical appointment. Bloodwork, nose swab for MRSA, EKG, Urinalysis, vitals. She gave me the pre-surgical protocol. I have to stop some of my vitamins a few days before. She said some impact the kidneys and that the kidneys have to work overtime to get the anesthesia out of you system. Call the cardiologist to get permission to stop the baby Aspirin for a few days. A special soap I have to bathe with for a couple days before the surgery which I've had before. I have to drink a bottle of Gatorade the day before and 1/2 bottle the morning of. A protein powder that I have to use for a few days before and after the surgery. Clean sheets the night before and I'm not supposed to let my cats sleep with me the night before. THAT'S a step too far!
This was stunning! I am 5'5! I used to be almost 5'8. I knew I was 5'6-something but this? I had her do it twice. I still don't believe it. That messes with my identity! Makes me not tall anymore.
Bill went to his diabetes classes and is going to meet with the dietician. I'd help him with.food choices but he won't hear anything I say. Best news is that he got one of the glucose monitoring systems. He could not bring himself to do finger sticks. Medicare used to not pay for them. I'm happy for him.
Gorgeous weather.

at squirrel tv. Poppy loves watching squirrel tv too. My stupid cat goes over and meows at them. Probably trying to find his friend of the year that a squirrel, a bird and a cat got together every day and each verbalized to the other.
I love the class picture.
That is a lot of pre-op prep! I guess that with an increasing number of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, they are trying to sterilize you as much as possible. Never heard them telling people to drink gatorade before surgery either but I guess they know something we don't know.
Hummm, I can imagine that spinal damage and compression could take that much height off. I don't know if that is the reason or not. Most people shrink as they age but that is a lot.
Squirrel tv! …LOL…

That a huge protocol for this surgery. It's good, though. Sounds very thorough.
I am still doing a happy dance in honor of your weight loss.
That's quite a difference in height! I've gone down nearly an inch. My mom lost several inches... I used to kid with her, like the old granny in the commercial saying, "I'm shrinking."
