Sunday Gratitudes Posted by Delta on 6/8/2025, 2:50 pm, in reply to "Sunday gratitudes…" My daughter, her husband, and his daughter are fishing on the mini pontoon this afternoon at the lakehouse. They are having a great time exploring the lake this week and just relaxing. They needed it. Our son and his family are relaxing on a big pontoon with some of their family and friends this afternoon on a different lake. They also needed it. Their time at the lake was not very enjoyable or relaxing, between bad storms and a family emergency on her side. I just got a notification that my daughter's youngest son had landed at his first layover on the way to a cruise to the Bahamas with his dad's family. We are just relaxing at home today. My husband is feeling much better. Friday, all he did was spend the day curled up on the bed in pain. The doctor's office closed early, so we couldn't call, and he was in so much pain that he didn't want to get up to go to a walk-in or ER. He kept saying it wasn't bad enough to spend 7 hours waiting at the ER. The way he acted and described his pain, I thought his colon was rupturing. Our daughter finally called for some info that night. She asked what antibiotics they had put him on. When told the name, she said that it had done her that way, and they had to change it. She also said to drink a cup or two of a hot drink is what the doctor told her to do. He had a bottle of antibiotics he had been given for a sinus infection, just a couple of days before getting COVID, and the doctor changed him to something else because it worked better with the antiviral they put him on. He is going to call tomorrow and have them prescribe him enough to finish the dose of it. By bedtime, he was already getting relief, and yesterday felt much better, though he still sat around all day, not like his usual hyper self. Today, he is back to normal. While we caught some pretty bad storms yesterday morning, we managed to dodge the brunt of the worst of it for the rest of yesterday and last night. Just barely south of us, tornadoes were popping up like popcorn, but we barely got sprinkles and a few gusts from those storms, although we could see and hear their lightning and thunder.

There have been so many Posted by Delta on 6/9/2025, 2:33 am, in reply to "Glad " bad storms with very high straight line winds with extensive damage, huge hail with extensive damage and tornadoes with even more damage and loss of lives that I am almost numb from it and having lots of cortisol problems from all the stress. I hope this is not a precursor to a wild and wooly hurricane season. The weather service said that the storm in Memphis was so tall that the lightning could be seen from Little Rock over 100 miles away. They showed a video taken at Little Rock and it looked like a laser light show.

My five… Posted by Cindy on 6/8/2025, 10:50 am, in reply to "Sunday gratitudes…" 1. Paula is home and able to post with us! 2. A quiet day at home with Ken yesterday. We have been watching all the Mission Impossible movies (never watched them before because Ken is not a Tom Cruise fan) and are really enjoying them. Even Ken said he doesn’t mind Tom Cruise in them! He has a great supporting cast which really helps. 3. Quiet Sunday mornings. Ken is sleeping in and now that the dogs have me wide awake they have gone back to sleep as well. Love this quiet time on Sunday morning to reflect over the past week and what’s ahead. 4. HGTV - Love all the home improvement shows. Currently watching Nicole Curtis and Rehab Addict! She has a new season that will start later this month so I decided to watch all her episodes leading up to it! I get a lot of ideas from watching it! 5. Still waiting on my windows to arrive. They were supposed to be here on the 5th but haven’t shipped yet. Good things come to those who wait, right?? Lol.

She rehabs exactly the kind of houses that I always wanted to. My husband always discouraged me because while he loves building, he hates renovation. I guess I can understand because while I love sewing and creating things, I hate repair work, too. I am glad Mike Holmes and his crew are coming back, too. You want a laugh? We ordered a window at the beginning of COVID, before everything got locked down, for a window in one of our rentals to replace a single-pane window. We waited and waited and kept checking on it. It arrived a couple of months ago. They kept telling us it had shipped, but it never came. The window company finally got a new manager, and we finally got our window. I hope you have much better luck. I hope you have a great rest of your day.
