Grandchildren.I have seen two already today and two more are coming to spend the night, love that they still want to do that. Just one that I haven't seen and he lives about an hour and a half away so we don't see him as much. We went and got 100 ears of corn early this morning. Gave son and daughter half of it and prepared and froze the rest. Our friend who grows the corn. He is a farmer here who farms hundreds of acres, if not thouands now that his father has passed, but he has set aside a field where he grows corn, autumn beans and other things every year. He hires many local teenagers to work for him every year to help plant, gather and sell the corn, giving local kids some work experience and money when they can't get work in fast food and grocery stores. He thithes off the top and uses all the profits to donate to youth sports teams, local high school bands, and the youth in his church. I just love that! It has been cooler yesterday and today. It is still very hot but cooler than it was for a week when it was so hot and humid that it was hard to breathe. Ourr screen room is finally not neon yellow. For over two months we have had so much pollen that we could clean it one day and the next day every surface would be bright yellow again. We cleaned it three days ago and it still looks clean. My allergies are a lot better since I don't have to walk through that to let the dog out or clean it.

I love how your farmer friend hires teens, and then uses profits to donate to youth groups. What a blessing he is to the community! Thank you for sharing!

Five for me... Posted by Joan on 6/28/2025, 7:11 am, in reply to "Saturday Gratitude..." 1. Going shopping with my husband, even a place as simple as Walmart is an adventure. 2. Watching a new series on Apple TV, "Lessons in Chemistry". Really like it so far. 3. Listening to the rain at night that lulls me to sleep. 4. Waking up and being able to see because of cataract surgery. I'll never get over the difference cataract surgery has made in my life. 5. FSF family and friends! I pray for all of you, your families, your friends in my daily prayers... and thank you for praying for me! Maintenance is a forever endeavor!
