Ken’s middle daughter’s 51st birthday is today and she came over to get her birthday money and we had a nice visit. 3. The rest of our windows are in and our contractor is going to come over tomorrow to start putting them in! So excited! 4. My sister Peggy and her husband came by for a visit. Love seeing them. My brother in law was shooting ideas back and forth with me about the peninsula I want to put in the kitchen. Excited to get started in the kitchen next! 5. Time spent with Ken. I do love that man of mine.

Sunday Gratitudes Posted by Delta on 6/29/2025, 3:15 pm, in reply to "Sunday Gratitude... Care to share?" Yesterday was a busy, productive day. It left me tired. I am grateful that I could. For the last couple of weeks I don't think I could have. We had been invited to our son's house today to swim and for a combo Independence party/goodbye party for our youngest grandson as he is going on a 16-day hike in New Mexico for one of his Boy Scout badges. Since we were cooking several slabs of ribs yesterday to freeze, we were going to take some. Our son and his wife brought their son here last night to spend the night. They were telling us that their pool was not ready, the high humidity and heat slowed down the process. They were hungry and when my husband pulled the ribs off the smoker, they decided that they would rather just eat last night. We invited her mother over and just had our get-together last night. I am so tired today that I am grateful that we don't have to go to a swim party today. Weird, I know. That at 14, 15 and 16 when kids are detaching from family, my younger grandkids still like coming here and spending time with us. Two of them live close enough that they just drop by from time to time. The youngest boy had already spent time with his other grandmother and wanted to spend time with us before leaving. The two older married ones still drop by to see us and call us regularly. It warms my heart. I used up all my CPAP water the other night. My husband went to the store the next day and I asked him to get me some. He called about something while there, and I reminded him again about the water. That night, when I was setting up my machine, I couldn't find the water. I thought he had left it in the car. No, he said he forgot it. I discovered that my new (over two-year-old) machine works fine without water, and I woke up the next day without being all clogged up and having drainage for an hour. My old machine would not work without water unless I took the water chamber off and I had never gotten the part to run it without the water chamber so without water, I couldn't use it. I am excited to know that I don't have to use water and that it doesn't dry me out horribly. Though Paula seems discouraged about healing so slowly, I know that it takes time for infections and I feel that since her doctors are thinking of sending her home this week that they think she is improving. I know it may be a long road to recovery, but I have high hopes that she will be in Paris as scheduled. **On a side note, my husband is an excellent meat smoker. He has his own rub for different meats that he mixes up. It was popular in his family as he grew up, and they had a giant smoker built in their backyard. Moving to Memphis, where BBQ is so popular that they dedicate a month to BBQ and partying, just cemented that. We also noticed that the top restaurants in town smoke meat and vacuum seal it after it has cooled, then freeze it. They sell these in stores and ship them all over the world. He decided that he could do the same thing at home, so he experimented. It worked great. When ribs are on sale, he buys several slabs, smokes them all day, cools them down, vacuum seals them and freezes them. For several months, if we have company or family over, we can just pull a few slabs out, thaw them, then put them in the oven for about 20-30 minutes to heat and they taste like they just came off the smoker. Quick and easy, no notice required.

I try not to eat pork very often and smoked meat less but I have eaten worse than three ribs every few months. Family stuff is about all I have these days. I rarely drive to get out and my husband is not fond of taking me places I like to go because he doesn't like those places so my world is small these days.

I begin my day with 32 oz with my morning medicine and add to it throughout the day. It's the only way I can make sure I get it in. I hope you have fun at the party!

It is funny, but after years of drinking water almost exclusively, we got a new refrigerator, and the filter does not seem to filter as well, so I have gotten out of the habit of drinking water the way I was. I am working my way back.

Yesterday, we picked up dinner from Jason's Deli. I tweaked one of the salads on the menu, and had a delicious salad for only 410 calories. Can't beat that. I'm always looking for delicious alternatives for my non-Treat days. 3. It's my husband's choice for Treat Day, and he picked a restaurant we like to go to that features pierogies on the menu. 4. Yesterday, for movie day we watched Novocaine which is streaming for free on Paramount +. While parts of the movie were rather silly, most of the movie was quite entertaining. 5. FSF family and friends! I pray for all of you, your families, your friends in my daily prayers... and thank you for praying for me! Maintenance is a forever endeavor!

My husband doesn't like it, and none of my other friends or family have ever suggested it, so I haven't been in ages. My favorite thing there is the gingerbread muffins, of course. I used to carefully pick salad ingredients on the buffet so that I could have just one. Then I read that they were over 300 calories, and I skipped them for the last few times I went. After that I saw on Jason's site that they are 60 calories. I may have to go again at some point just to have one. Or not. I seem to have survived without them for years.
