Monday Gratitudes Posted by Delta on 7/21/2025, 3:17 pm, in reply to "Gratitudes for Monday" We went ot our son's Saturday to welcome back our grandson and ended up staying to swim (or they swam, I couldn't breathe out there) then we had hamburgers and made homemade, healthier Wendy's Frosty knockoffs. We really enjoyed it. Our grandson showed us the map of the hike that they made. They hiked over 100 miles with all their essentials on their backs. They had to pack for the heat and cold since they climbed to 11,000 feet in the process, from over 100-degree heat to below freezing in one day then down it the next day. They had heavy clothing and coats as well as heavier bedding for the cold and lighter things for the heat. I marveled listening to him telling all about it. He seems to have matured so much over two weeks. The leader told our son that one of the adult chaperones was having a hard time, especially with the climbing, so our grandson took a lot of his load and talked some other boys into dividing more of it. He kept going on about how compassionate he is. He is right. We are lucky that all four of our grandsons are very kind and compassionate and step in where needed. Laundry will be finished soon, and I will be sleeping on freshly washed sheets tonight. I should sleep like a baby tonight. Fresh fruits and vegetables from our little garden, local orchards, and farmers' markets. Great eating in the summer. All of you ladies. I check in on you every morning while having my coffee, even if I don't have time to respond right then.

She wandered all over this morning, sniffing the furniture and pillows and walking to the front door with a plaintive look. Remember she and her many siblings lived with them until she was 6 months old. She didn't recognize them at first but I think she eventually got the connection . Your support. I love that we can count on each other.

I know that you will be so glad to get rid of all that. PICC line in a couple of days, wound vac soon! You sure look good to have gone/be going through all of this.

He said treatment ended but he didn't seem quite together. So, I called again today and he said the same thing and they would send an order to home health to take it out. I was looking on my Aetna account and my part for each dose that Deborah gave me is between $147 and $179. Scary. I will be on a payment plan until I die.

Max told us all about Boy Scout Camp. Boating, swimming working on badges and how to clean a latrine. EEK. He said it's pretty gross. I told him that I went to Girl Scout Camp I learned to breath only thru my mouth (like when your nose is all stuffed up) when using the latrine. So you don't smell the stink. LOL Another day of mild weather. Doing a hula happy dance. Murray's not feeling will with pain when he is breathing. I am glad he put a call in to the pulmonary doctor. I've gone out in the sun everyday the sun has been out for a week. Grateful that I did it. You ladies are the best ever!!!!! All of you!!!!!

It sounds as if Max had fun. I still have to do a double take when you mention big boy stuff for Max. I still think of Maya and Max as little ones when I first see their names. LOL at your suggestion on how to use a latrine. It may keep you from smelling it, but you will TASTE it the rest of the day. So glad that you can get out in the sun. I need it but it is still near 100F here at night. So humid it is like a sauna. I just can't get out there much.
