Monday Gratefuls Posted by Delta on 9/1/2025, 9:00 pm, in reply to "Monday gratitudes…" Laundry all done today. Got the house clean enough today. The rest of the week is mine. I can clean more or go somewhere if I choose. Nothing on our calendar for the next ten days so we are thinking maybe of driving up to the lake to check everything out. May or may not stay a day or two. We haven't been there since July 4th for various reasons, but mainly because our house/cat sitter moved away. We had to find someone else that we could trust who had the time to sit for us. Grandchildren who call just to talk to us. It is amazing to me when most kids their age can't be bothered with "old people" that not only they but their friends call and drop by here often. The oldest grandson tries to get us to move close to his new job almost every week. One of his friends even bought a flush valve and came by to put it in and wouldn't let us pay him a dime because he used to work for a plumber and noticed the last time he was here that it was getting sluggish and about to quit working. All you ladies. Even when I don't feel my best I come check on you daily. My heart sisters that I never met.

Once or twice early in the year, and the week of the Fourth of July. We have either been too busy or didn't feel like making the trip. It is a good thing that the kids and grandkids have taken advantage of it. I love it there and never want to leave. There are always so many reasons that we have to. We have been considering whether to keep it if we ever find a new house. We are finding it very difficult right now to find what we want close enough to our doctors and at no more than a day trip to see the kids, so I don't know if that is going to happen or not. Right now, we have as many questions as you do.

(limit on how much you can etranfer each day) 2) long weekend and it's a gorgeous sunny day for Labour Day. Hope it is the same there for all of you! 3) considering today "Day One" toward my prep. I start Optifast next Monday but I want to start "winding down" on the stuff I shouldn't be eating and wind up on the water intake and movement 4) the pension from where I work. I do handsomely and I am blessed. I can't even imagine how people would live without a pension. Poor Ray won't get a work one when he completely retires. It isn't a common thing to have work pensions here where I live 5) hoping Dad will hear from his surgeon this week with the outcome of his catscan. That's the ONLY thing that is going to hold me back from a Sep 23 surgery date!

Bill brought them home from a nursing home.he would visit and was embarrassed to tell .e.until the infestation was horrible. My room is.in the back of the house and I never had them in here. I hope you have better luck and someone can help you get rid of.them pronto!

I can't believe that none of the doctors got a clue that could be what it was. Did no one ever mention it? I have heard of people who are allergic to them breaking out badly. It is nothing to be embarrassed about because they happen, even the most upscale, posh shops in New York had them, and from there they went home with the ultra-rich patrons. Unless there are things that you can use in Canada that we can't just call in the professionals. Even then, it sometimes takes several tries. Hopeing that they are gone soon!

Did a deep clean of the room yesterday - vacuumed, more earth throughout and Ray cleaned up a LOT of carcasses then. We're giving it a couple more days but it looks like we'll call someone in Friday. The issue is (or I would have called right away), the cost. It was $1700 plus tax for one spot. They come back twice - once after a month. The second place is $900 a room and that's what we will go with. They come once and only have a 3 week guarantee. That's all that was holding us back (and Ray's pride!) - the money for the airfare, hotel, operation has depleted my savings. I have gotten some out of my TFSA now.

I said what I did because one of my nephews got them in, of all things, a new crib and mattress in boxes. They started biting the baby when they put him in. When they found them, they tried diatomaceous earth, steam, encasement, got the baby out of the room, cleaned and washed all his stuff and moved it to another room and sealed the room up, and sprayed it with something. Things worked for a while, but they kept finding them in other parts of the house and eventually had to have the professionals come in.

My five… Posted by Cindy on 9/1/2025, 11:29 am, in reply to "Monday gratitudes…" 1. Drinking coffee in bed this morning while Ken and the dogs sleep in! Love the quiet in the house. 2. Cutting back on processed carbs has really helped with my eating. I’m so grateful for that. Before I cut back on them I felt like I was struggling so much with my food and still gaining weight. It was very frustrating! I found myself angry that people could eat whatever they wanted and I couldn’t. It just wasn’t fair! Does anyone else ever feel like that? Now when Ken is wanting a burger and onion rings I don’t feel like I am being punished but instead order me a delicious oriental salad with grilled chicken at a favorite place. And get this! Last night I told Ken I was going to get me my salad and asked what he wanted and he had one too! He gets his with fried chicken, but it is still a step in the right direction over a greasy burger and onion rings! 3. Since I mentioned my salad that I love to get I have to tell you another gratitude that I was able to do. This salad comes with 2 little cups on the side of a sweet delicious Asian dressing which was why in the beginning I would order this salad! It was so delicious! The salad itself is a romaine/spring mix bed of greens topped with grilled chicken, about a 1/4 cup of chow mein noodles and what I would call a generous tablespoon of peanuts! The last two times I have ordered it, I have asked them for no dressing and they have put it in the sack anyway! The gratitude is that I was able to look in the sack, see the dressing and give it back to them! I knew if I had it, I would eat it! Such a good feeling to be proactive in my eating! I got this! 4. Spending time with Ken. We both love when I am off work and able to just be together. Hoping to figure out what pattern we want on the quartz countertops today. There are about 4 contenders, and it’s hard to narrow it down to just one! 5. Cooler weather. Hard to believe it’s September already!

I can walk away at the store or drive-thru, but when I get it home, all bets are off. I think it is Skinny Girl that makes an Asian dressing that I really like. Bearing that, I love a good light raspberry dressing on anything. I am getting to where I am experimenting with making a lot of my own light dressings, and I am finding that they are better than any bought dressing most of the time.

I think I will be lowering the calorie count because I'm using chicken sausage and high protein pasta. I have to sit down and figure the numbers out. Actually talked to Carin last night. She called instead of texting. She said he has apologized over and over and she's seen none of his controlling behavior. He helps without being asked and the kids are enjoying having a male in their lives. Her house sold and closing is this week. She is under contract with a new house. The lender hasn't approved her loan yet. She discovered that her ex-husband has not been paying the two bills he was supposed to be covering and it dropped her credit score by 60 points. If this doesn't go through, they are going to have to scurry around to find something that can house 5 people, 5 cats and 2 dogs! I told her that I'm taking my time with all of this and that, before ever being open to him being in her life, I would have to have a face to face with him and let him know what I think and feel. Cool temps Notes done Krista's surgery will be here before you know it!

Just wanted to throw in Posted by Delta on 9/1/2025, 8:05 pm, in reply to "Mine " my two cents, if the court divided their payments, then she can dispute with the credit agency and send the info to the credit reporting agencies, and they will usually change the score. If a judge didn't appoint him to pay the bills and it was just an agreement between them, if she has anything in writing, she can try disputing it. Sometimes they will take texts, but since texts can be changed on some, if not all, phones now, they sometimes will not take texts, but it is worth a try. Bottom line is to never trust someone to pay for something that affects you. Always have them pay you, and you pay the bill on time, whether they have paid yet or not.
