It had been in the 150s a while. My cardiologist said not too high. I don’t understand that. I had been waking the last few weeks in the middle of the night w red flush cheeks and couldn’t figure out why. I bet that’s why. Praying the echo results are good. Or something I can deal with ok. They finished the drywall ceiling and wall repair yesterday so John and I will paint the areas tomorrow or Monday. We are looking at new flooring online and trying to decide between lvp and laminate for large living room hall and bedrooms. I will stay with tile in kitchen and bathrooms and at living room entry / door sweep. Does anyone have any experience with LVP with a good thick wear layer? If I buy it, it would be a good one. I just don’t want to waste money. We bought this home in 2013 and have carpeted it 2 times with top notch good wearing carpet and the best pad under it and it’s worn out again!! I won’t go back to carpet. I would put it in the bedrooms but really don’t see a need. Help?!

I have found that lately, heat and traveling together make me swell horribly, and when I do, my BP goes up. Are you on any steroids right now? It has also started making me swell up and get flushed cheeks of late, when it never did before. I hope that your echo turns out well and is something easily dealt with.

This just tells me that whatever it is has to be taken care of. We had also had LVT put in our daughter's living room and hallway before she moved back in, and within a year, it was coming apart in big sections. She wanted to put in more expensive LVT, thinking that would help, so we had the guy who does our commercial flooring go out to measure and give her a price. After he saw it, he suggested laminate because he said that rolling chairs at their computer desks were starting the problem, and it was just going from there. He said that LVT can not hold up under high foot traffic or things being pushed or rolled over them, like in an office or dining room and laminate was about the same price of the vinyl she wanted. He said with rolling chairs that the only way to save it is with those clear mats under the chair, like those used with carpet. With that said, we have laminate in the game room. I put my desk and sewing table in there, and there is one spot where the corner of the laminate has caught, and the edge is getting ragged from rolling my chair over it. It is going to have to be replaced; luckily, it is near the edge. The flooring guy's recommendations were: 1) wood flooring 2) engineered wood flooring that is nailed or glued down, not floating 3)laminate, with a liner under it, but the floating can come apart in some circumstances 4) commercial LVT that is glued down 5)LVT if it has very little traffic or you are selling it quickly. * 5-6mm plank thickness is better for durability in living rooms and kitchens (home is usually 4-6mm and commercial is 6-8mm thickness. The wear layer in residential is usually 12 mil while commercial is 20 mil) The higher numbers you can afford of thickness and wear layer the better it will hold up. Vinyl flooring starts tearing after some time even if you buy an expensive one. I will say that our daughter's house has had laminate in the bedrooms for almost 20 years, with pets and children, and still looks good. It was in the hall and her friends that she rented it for 6 months, which turned into 10 years, let the AC stop up because they didn't put the pills in every month in summer, and where it backed up on the floor, it came all to pieces. The lake house had new LVP when we bought it, but it is not used much, maybe four months if all the time people have been there was put together, and we don't have a rolling chair there, so I can't tell you if taking care of it makes it last better or not. The dining room area does have scratches from the chairs scooting, and there is a scratch in the living room where the chair scoots around when the tall boys just flop down. These are not very noticeable unless they catch the light just right. We did have a tree go through the roof in a storm when we were not there, and of course, the floor was full of water. The next-door neighbor mopped it up the next day, and so far it is still sticking well with no buckling. As I have said before, most laminate, unless waterproof all the way through (which my mother has in her bathroom and it looks like a real wood plank in thickness and is vinyl all the way through like Trex) will come up when wet. There is a place in the kitchen where the floor is not level, which wants to stick up enough to catch the toe of a shoe occasionally. It is not noticeable to look at, but I am sure it will need to be replaced soon. Thankfully, they left a few planks in the closet. *Both can scratch if not careful *Both can move if they are floating *The glue-down of either seems to work better on slab foundations or older houses that are not perfectly level. *A rolling mat under rolling chairs helps preserve the lifetime of either vinyl plank or laminate Often, laminate and vinyl cost about the same to buy and install, so choose what will work better in your situation. For my husband and me, either would probably be about as good. I do know from experience that some vinyl can peel up from the floor when there is no heating or cooling on for a day or so. If you have a problem with the power going out for days, you might consider that. I hope this helps.

Both felt like coming down with the flu that never arrived, but took all the stuffing out of us. The second was worse than the first. We got rain off and on for several hours last night and this morning. We were on the verge of drought so it helped. The rain also dropped the temps. It only got up to 67 until after 2:30 when the sun came out. It managed to get to the mid-70s before sundown. I can't believe that barely over a week ago, the heat index was around 110. This feels glorious! Our grandson and his wife found a house they loved and called us so excited. They were ready to put a contract on it and pay their way out of their rental agreement. It really was an adorable house, had a fenced-in pool away from the house, a fenced-in play area for the toddler, and was in their price range. I looked it up on the safety app and found out that it was in a very unsafe area, more so than the area where they are renting, which they already want to get away from because of the moderate crime. I really didn't want to tell them and be the one who burst their bubble, but they would have wanted to move shortly after moving in. The next morning, they were on the way to view it after he finished a job at work the next morning, when their agent called and said he had just gotten there, and another agent was getting a contract signed on it right then. I hate that they got so disappointed, but feel so relieved that they didn't get that problem in their lives. I know how they feel because we got the perfect house ripped away from us the same way, and I later learned to use the app to find safe neighborhoods and found that crime was moving into the area where the house was we wanted too. Glad we were both saved from ourselves. A real estate friend who is also on the city council called us yesterday to say that there is a major company opening here at first. They are shooting for the first of November. She told us that if we could be ready to sell our house by then, she would have a good chance of selling it. My husband talked to a neighbor the same day, and he said he had an uncle who had his eye on it, and if we sell to let him know before it is listed. He went to pay insurance and told them that he wanted month by month because he wants to sell by the end of the year. She told him that she and her husband are looking for a house about the size of ours in November so let her know before we list it. Three things in a row, so I guess we need to be ready to be out by the end of October if we have to rent pods and pack up what we want to take with us, and sell/give away/throw away the rest. It seems ambitious to me, especially since we haven't found a new house yet, but houses the size of ours are hard to sell because not everybody wants them this size. At least I have a timeline to work toward so maybe I will quit procrastinating, going through things, and deciding what to keep and what not to, since we will definitely have at least half the space or less, depending on what we find.

It rained the last two days so I’m thankful it stopped and is supposed to be sunny out today! 2. My online weight loss meeting. Such a nice small group of friends sharing their struggles with weight loss. So glad that I am attending these meetings once again. 3.Trying to figure out this kitchen remodel. I haven’t seen my cabinet guy all week and have reached out but only got a brief message which made me believe he would call me back but that was yesterday afternoon and I still haven’t heard from him! I know he’s probably busy, but really! Customer service is not what it used to be! I want to get a farmhouse apron sink and just found out it has to be installed before they come out to measure the countertops to make the template on the 22nd. The sink I want is going to require some extra support as it is big and weighs 81 pounds. I need to find out if my guy can reinforce the cabinet and switch out the sinks or not. If not I need to get ahold of someone else! So much stress but I am grateful to have these problems and I know there are a lot of people that would love to have my kitchen just as it is. It will all work out. Deep breath Cindy. 4. Feeling better about my eating. Glad to have some food sanity. 5. The friendships we have on this board! Thanks for sending the cooler temps on to us! I know everyone is different, but I hope that the farmhouse sink is worth all the extra money, work, and stress. Though they are lovely, I was disappointed. It just does not function well for how I use my sink. If you don't do a lot of cooking, especially for lots of people, and don't can or have multiple people in the kitchen at the same time, you may love it. My son wanted one very badly, too, but he changed his mind the first time he used it. Not trying to be a Debbie Downer, just saying assess your needs from a sink before getting one. What I need is a triple sink. LOL One of my aunts had one once, and I loved it. She didn't cook and rarely even went into her kitchen except to use the trash compactor, so it was wasted on her.

I am so excited not only because of the wedding, but also being able to visit with all my relatives who will travel from the far corners of the US! 2. The weather in Ohio is cooler than Florida weather. Looking forward to that! 3. Dentist appointment - no cavities, teeth polished 4. Watching RFK, Jr. being questioned by the Senate Finance Committee about the happenings at the CDC. I'm grateful for those politicians who stepped up to seek the truth. 5. FSF family and friends!
