The easiest way to avoid regrets is to ask yourself this question, "If not now, when?" It's a powerful way to put life and our decisions about how we spend our time into perspective"

Sunday grats...

Things are swinging back to apple this fall as well as pumpkin still going strong. I used to love the fresh cider, cold or hot, depending on the temperatures, hot mulled cider, apple pies, and apple breads, even caramel apple slices or whole caramel apples at events. When pumpkin became king, they just quietly disappeared. I love pumpkin, but I love that apple is also back this year.
All the fall craft festivals are starting up and there is a line-up almost every weekend through November. I love to get out in the fall weather, have a cider drink and just see everything and the people.
I have my house decorated for fall. I love decorating for fall, then phasing into Christmas. Makes the shorter days brighter. Fall is late this year. Even the foothills of the Smokies hadn't even begun to change color yet. Seeing my preserved and fake leaves make me so happy.
We took our daughter and her family out to lunch today. It was a nice time and we laughed a lot. We got there as the crowd was dying down so it wasn't crowded and no one came in to be seated after us so we felt free to sit there for a bit and visit.
Poppy has had someone to play with for the second week in a row. She loves it, but she gets so exhausted. So glad that our son and daughter both have Schnauzers that she likes so they can get together often. She also loves my mother's dog, but doesn't see him as much. When we left, Mama's dog tried to go with us. He was so funny. He ran outside as my husband took suitcases out and zoomed around and around the car trying to find a door to get in. My husband opened the back gate and he jumped over and over until he got high enough to get in there, then he hid behind the clothes I had gotten from my cousin. He wouldn't come when Mama called him, which was unusual. She finally got his leash and went out and got him out. As soon as he hit the ground, he turned and jumped back into the car again. That happened 3 times. I laughed until I cried. After she finally carried him inside he sat behind the door and cried. I felt so bad for him. Had he come with us he would have cried to get back with her. He is like my oldest grandson was as a tiny child, wants everyone together all the time.

Things finally slowing down with Jen. We have been so busy with her. So much time at the hospital dealing with insurance etc. she has had such a negative mindset. Won’t try to drive. Wont take the free bus to dialysis. Wants everyone to cater to her. It’s a mess.
Doing good on plan.
Going to visit my Dad today. His 80th birthday is this week!! He’s been through colorectal cancer and now has some memory loss but he’s still doing pretty good.
We went to the drive in last night. Had a date night. Saw Roof Man. It was a good movie. Was nice to get out too. Not that we don’t ever but not like that
All of you.
My five…

1. I broke down and bought a container for my daily pills. You know-one of those Sunday-Saturday ones that old people use! LOL I hated the big rectangular ones -but found a cute rounded one that I really like. I keep a little basket with my pill bottles on the countertop in the kitchen and wanted to get that moved off there. I can slip this smaller pill container in the cabinet!
.
2. I mowed my back yard probably for the last time this season yesterday. Glad to get it done!
3. Enjoying our new kitchen. The buffet that we put together is really nice! I am also enjoying having my new appliances. Next up is the countertops which will be installed a week from Monday on the 20th. So excited! Then comes the backsplash and then I think I am going to update the lighting. It’s slowly coming together!
4. Social media-amid all the junk that pops up on Facebook I was able to see pics of everyone that went to my 50th class reunion! I chose not to go because Ken didn’t feel up to going. It was fun to see everyone that was there.
5. Quiet Sunday mornings, sleeping dogs, the soft snore of the man I love, the big blue board, all of you sweet ladies, and a good cup of coffee.
Here’s to a great day! Let’s make it count!!

Only 3 notes left
A funny NSV. You know how public toilets often self flush? Well, sometimes, I took up so much space that the thing that triggers the flush wouldn't happen. I noticed at the movies last week that my body clears enough space to let the toilet know I'm up from the seat. Lol
Made shrimp last night and have it for 2 more meals.
Had PT on Friday. She didn't have anyone after me so she just kept working with me. I can't get off the floor if I fall and don't have something I can use to pull myself up. I told her I want to work toward that. If I'm out by myself, say, in the street, I'd have nothing to hold on to. We began working on it but I still can't do it.
Sounds like Murray is being more agreeable and doing what he needs to do.
Five for me...

1. Sunday - Thank you, God, for all your blessings... past, present, future!
2. Online Sunday services - I like to watch at least one a week in preparation for the "real thing"!
3. Pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin doughnuts, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cookies... you get the idea
4. Flip phone small enough to fit in the back pocket of my pants
5. FSF family and friends! I pray for all of you, your families, your friends in my daily prayers... and thank you for praying for me!
Maintenance is a forever endeavor!
