Slept most of the day Posted by Paula on 10/24/2025, 4:19 am, in reply to "Paula!" My body wasn't ready for this trip. Had a fever off/ on yesterday. I took some short walks because it's so beautiful but was exhausted. I realized that I am not going to do this trip as planned, ie running from town to town in Spain, so, I canceled everything I had planned. Unfortunately, this meant losing quite a bit of money. I'm going to stay in Nice for a couple extra days. The Airbnb is so comfortable and Nice is healing. Being here is enough. I re-booked to Paris for the rest of the time (now coming home the 3rd instead of the 5th). I am not ready to come home and, like Nice, Paris is enough without much effort on my part. Disappointed, but not defeated!

I was worried about you being able to do as much as you had planned since your body is still working so hard to heal that open wound and fight against infections that might want to set up shop there. It was my experience that until the wound completely heals that there just wasn't a lot of strength left over for extra things. I was hoping it was just me, but a lot of friends have had that same problem. I commend you on honoring your body's boundaries so that you don't get down again. If nothing goes wrong, you should be healed by spring, and it gives you time to work up to being as fit as can be by then. Just make a relaxing vacation out of this instead of a whirlwind of sightseeing. Different but still exciting, at least for us, still sitting here stateside.

I am sure you are going to have a fabulous time in Nice and Paris! And you can visit the other places you canceled on this trip on a future trip! And just remember… It’s only money…you’ll make more!
