asking for prayers for my Dad Posted by Cindyh on 10/31/2025, 4:15 pm He was taken my ambulance to the hospital in Poplar Bluff and then transferred via ambulance to Cape Girardeau by me. He had kidney stone surgery a week ago and apparently she left one in and it’s extremely infected. He’s had high fever yesterday and was seeing dogs they don’t have running around and refusing to take anything for it. He just got out of surgery and the infection is so bad all they can do is place a stent and do IV antibiotics until the infection clears. I’m worried about him. He’s stubborn. Getting ready to leave and go there. He can have visitors soon. Thank you all.

Dad had a stent placed until infection clears and as I said is on iv antibiotics. He is still running a high fever. Had 5 blankets in and his hospital room was 80 degrees. Whew! What scared me is how confused he is. Very confused. I just hope he turns a corner quickly. Thank you all.

It is scary Posted by Delta on 11/1/2025, 6:08 pm, in reply to "Just got home" seeing our loved ones like this. As we age confusion often goes along with infections. My mother has Chronic UTI and she always starts becoming very forgetful or confused days before any other symptoms show up. When she was here I was able to get her to the doctor the next day after noticing it starting and sure enough she would have an infection and we could get it cleared up quickly but at home she gets down before she even knows she is sick. To her she just don't feel good for a day or two. I have noticed that a lot of the men in my life get abnormally cranky, hateful or obstinate right before and during the confusion stage. I am glad that they got the stent in and is on IV antibiotics. It usually clears it up in a few days. Praying that is the case with him.

I bet…. Posted by Cindy on 11/1/2025, 12:42 am, in reply to "Just got home" His confusion is due to the infection. That’s what caused Ken’s confusion when he had that bad UTI and was in the hospital. It took several days on his IV antibiotics to get his confusion cleared up. Give it some time.
