He had a short run of afib today but that’s all. Waiting on another blood culture and infectious diseases will decide what antibiotics to switch to. He seems much less confused. Hoping he can go home soon

Yesterday, we went to look at a lake house in a nice rural community that feels very out in the country. It is actually 3 miles from the interstate, and in 15 to 20 minutes, we can be at a good hospital in the same system that we are in now, dozens of grocery stores, eating establishments, and several shopping malls. It is the best of both worlds and also 1.5 hours closer to where we live than our current lake house. It already has the extra bathrooms that we need when everyone is there, and it has a large room that the boys can put cots or blow-up mattresses in if we all get together. The lake is even more pristine and beautiful. We were going to build something like that onto our current lake house because there is nowhere to put extra people when the beds are all full. We made an offer on it today. It has a few flaws, but it was worth almost what they were asking. We made an offer today, so we shall see. The only fly in the ointment is that there is a real estate agent who wants to view it to flip. I hope he can't afford to offer them a lot more than they are asking just to flip. Crossing my fingers that we get it. Sure it needs paint and some upgrades but it so fits our needs for the whole family and is closer to all of us. Our son had to bring some things over tonight that he forgot last night and do some things to his son's truck, getting ready for him to start driving. He got to our house just as I was putting dinner on the table. Since he hadn't eaten, he stayed to eat with us. Enjoyed seeing him two days in a row. Today is our daughter's anniversary. My oldest grandson called today and talked for over an hour until he got called out to a job. It is so nice that the grandchildren near drop by frequently, and the ones that don't still call and talk to us. Our son-in-law got a new job. I hope that it turns out to be something that he likes. I am just grateful that he got away from that overly stressful job that he was working at. It almost took a toll on him.

I told ya'll that after we got more beds in the current lake house, we needed to have a retreat there. The good thing about this one is that it is close to the airport. The other is about 45 minutes of winding, mountain roads. I will miss those mountains if we get this and sell the other house.

We just haven't found a house to move into yet. It will probably get put on hold for a bit if we get this house. One of our renters just got transferred to Florida, and we have decided that since we have to paint and put in new carpets that we might as well put it up for sale. We are dwindling our rentals down as renters move out. Between that, updating the current lake house to sell, and getting the new lake house the way we want it I think that we will have our hands full for a few months. We may pick up looking for a smaller place in the spring.

Only two families can be there at once, and that is crowded. This one would hold the whole family at once without being overly big like the house we are now living in. We had planned to expand the lake house we now have to hold us all, starting about now, but we are waiting to see if this plays out. There have been several times when someone wanted to go to the lake house and it was already full so they didn't get to go. I have two kids, a son and a daughter. My son has one son. My daughter has three boys (two married, one has a son) and a step-daughter. Twelve people, when we all get together who need places to sleep.

I left my apartment at 1:30 AM Virginia time and, if all goes well, I'll be at my home by 7:30 PM. LONG day but my babies wait for me at the other end! I had free mobility assistance assigned to me by United throughout this trip. I probably could have walked it but it would have been a very, very long walk with lots of standing in line to get through TSA. These guys whisked me in a motorized wheelchair. They ride on the back. Get to go to the head of any lines. I'll take it! Feel more like myself than I have in ages. I can navigate my life again. My chariot has arrived! Au revoir

It sounds like the trip was the best prescription you could have had. I also think it was for the best that you had a wheelchair. That many hours of travel was very taxing so it wouldn't have been in your best interest.
