Friday Gratefuls Posted by Delta on 11/21/2025, 3:35 pm, in reply to "Friday gratefuls?" Seeing my grandson's family last night was great. We had a houseful of family and I always love that. His little boy has grown so much. I can't refer to him as the baby any longer. I think one of the most precious things in the world is when they are put down on the floor and they run toward me at top speed. I am grateful that I was able to stoop and scoop him up last night. That wouldn't have been the case a week or so ago. Sciatica is still giving me pain at times, but I am moving better. My BP meds came out in generic last month, which took the price for me down over $400 per month. I am having a love/hate relationship with it so far. I have felt better over the past week than I have felt in ages, but have also had many spells of lightheadedness/balance problems. I hope they get better, and I don't have to switch back to the original because I am allergic to some filler. Thanksgiving is a potluck and not at my house for once this year. I'll have much less work, so I should be able to enjoy the people more.

Made me feel like I actually did catch an important aspect of who you are. I will enjoy seeing your smiling 'faces' throughout the coming year. February, March, June, July and December! Krista! Beverly posted a shout out to her yesterday because she is the one that made FSF happen all those years ago. Thank you dear friend. Going out to dinner with Deborah tonight. Being able to do so much more than I could before surgery. Had my PT reassessment yesterday. Carmella couldn't stop smiling over how much I have improved! Feeling excited about future trips I,hopefully, will be able to take. Due to money and, eventually, needing to retire(!),there may only be 3 or 4 more. At this moment, I have a 3 week trip planned for next April/May. 17 days in Paris and 3 in London. BUT, my dream of attending a whole opera at La Scala in Milan may change things up. I was there once but due to jet lag and how warm it was in the theater, I had to leave after the first act because I couldn’t stay awake! Then, a few years after that, I had tickets to attend a Christmas concert there. My train from Venice to Milan was delayed for hours because of an earthquake just north of Milan, so I missed the concert. By chance, Turandot is being presented during this coming trip. I love that Opera. It's the one where Pavarotti sang 'Nessun Dorma' which is my favorite male operatic piece. In fact, Carin knows to play it over and over if I'm ever very sick with little chance of getting better. Anyway, tickets go on sale next Thursday and I'll go on line and try to score a ticket. That might change my travel dates a little. I might have been able to say all that with fewer words, but, I LOVE talking about it, visualizing it!! LOL

It is a very difficult process to become an ex-patriot Bottom line is I wouldn't leave my animals and they would be miserable traveling like that and living in a small apartment. I can't escape the fact that I'm in my 70s and need to be near people who care for me.

And to have a big fling there and possibly get married. Don't worry. If you lived there, it might lose its shine for you. Our dream places usually do when they are not the place that we can put everything down and just enjoy being there. At least now you have Paris to get you through the hard times.

I kept it up for years until you got sick of hearing it. I was teasing, sorta but I sorta meant it.
