Update from surgeon Posted by Krista on 11/27/2025, 1:20 pm Well, the news isn't as good as I had hoped. The surgeon thought the cardiologist had done the stress test and he hasn't. She wasn't happy with that. She doesn't think it will matter though as she feels Dad's health isn't strong enough for surgery and recovery She doesn't think he would die from surgery but that quality of life would not be good afterward - could be in hospital or nursing home. He has until Jan to decide but it sounds like they are ready to just live out life as well as possible. He will have 6 months (maybe even 1-2 years) to live is her best estimate. He seems at peace with it for the moment. knowing it's all in God's time and he will be with Mom again Heaven. Thanks for your prayers - they mean so much to our family. I'm pretty shook about it as this was not what I was expecting.

Enjoy these days with him as much as possible. Such a hard time. Please know I am hoping for the best. I am sending so much love and many many hugs to you and all of your family.

I would like to share, for what it's worth, that when we were given the same type of news for my Mother, my sister and I decided we would make every celebration, every event, an event to remember. From those intentional choices, we have so many many fun memories, and I know for sure my Mom loved every little extra thing we did for her and together!
