He is too weak to get up to go to the bathroom so he has a catheter in. He said they started talking to him today about going home! He wanted to know if I would be able to pick him up and take him home and I said no. 1. He is so weak I wouldn’t be able to get him out of my car and into his apartment and 2. He still has Covid and I am afraid that I would get exposed and take it home to Ken. So I don’t think he has any business going anywhere until he is better. I know that sounds mean-but I think it is in his best interest as well as mine. And the main thing is he can’t ambulate on his own. I told him they need to see if they can get him on the rehab floor of the hospital and work on building up his strength. Or send him to a skilled nursing facility. I also texted his daughter Ashley to let her know what was up and tell her that she is going to have to help her dad decide what he is doing as that is her place -not mine. She put a call into the social worker at the hospital and asked her to call so they could discuss options. My brother is a big guy and has no business being at home alone when he can’t move around on his own. His daughter is in the military in Oklahoma City and is close enough that she can come home. Thank you for the prayers. We still need them!

I hope the social worker can help and guide him to the right place now. Ken needs you... and, heaven forbid, you get covid somehow... it would be a nightmare. You are certainly doing the right things.

If that is the situation, the hospital has no business sending him home. People who are too weak to go to the bathroom at a hospital can't be expected to take care of themselves at home just because they have run out of time there as determined by insurance companies. If he is still so weak that he has a catheter, he needs to be in a skilled nursing facility or he needs home care. You are not qualified for the job and should not feel guilty for not taking it on. You absolutely have to think of Ken in this, too.
