Pulling my hair out! Posted by Paula on 4/8/2026, 3:06 pm United just notified that all the airport traffic controllers in Italy are going on strike April 9 & 10th. My departure and arrival date. Meaning a likely cancelation or long delay. My best bet will be to fly to Zurich and train to Rome. Have a headache! Wish me luck! M

Well Posted by Paula on 4/8/2026, 10:17 pm, in reply to "Pulling my hair out!" Just got to the hotel near Dulles. I got a flight to Zurich that leaves almost the same time as my flight to Rome. The train from Zurich to Rome was $250! AND, I have you change trains 1x. I love train travel but hefting my very heavy bags up and down steep train steps is so difficult. Almost always someone offers to help but I still get anxious about being able to fo it. A man lifted my heaviest bag on my AmTrak out here. These European strikes can suddenly evaporate so I'll check my original flight in the morning. So far the strikes are still on. I feel OLD! Shuttle to Dulles at 11 tomorrow. Boarding is 4:30ish. I am going to use all the wheelchair assistance like I did last time. I need it. All 4 of my babies stayed with me in my bedroom while I was packing. I love them so much. Sort of widh I was home in my bed with Gianni purring by my head, Blake curled up next to my hip, Lew in his bed snoring and Co in her kennel. That's my life and it's good. I'm just tired. Nite Nite
