The easiest way to avoid regrets is to ask yourself this question, "If not now, when?" It's a powerful way to put life and our decisions about how we spend our time into perspective"

Fraday Gratefuls

My husband started hurting in his mouth late Wednesday afternoon. He thought he was getting sores in his mouth, but during the night, he woke up with his jaw hurting. He didn't tell me. By morning, his whole bottom jaw was throbbing, and he developed a dry cough. He called his cardiologist's office and talked to his nurse practitioner, who told him to come in. They ran some tests and sent him next door to the hospital ER for more tests. They decided that he had developed an infection and put him on steroids and told him to take 4 Tylenol every 4 hours. Other than getting up several times to go to the bathroom because his sugar is through the roof, even with higher doses of insulin, he was able to sleep mostly comfortably last night. Today, he hasn't had Tylenol and says that his jaw is sore, but hasn't hurt. Strange to me, but as long as he seems to be feeling better...
Paula should be off on her next great adventure by now. I hope that she has the best trip ever.
The doctors upped Krista's dad's Gabapentin. I hope that helps his painful feet.
Cindyh seems to be dealing with less pain since healing from her surgery.
Ken is getting a stimulator to help with his pain. I hope that it helps a great deal. I had an early prototype that was worn outside the body, and it helped so much!
I spent most of the morning trying on clothes. I am getting rid of the clothes that are too big and since the smaller pants that I pulled out fit I decided to go through the closet and find any other clothes that size and try them on. I found a whole summer wardrobe, most with the tags still on. I remember getting COVID last year and gaining weight after while sitting on my behind trying to get my energy back. I was cold all the time so I just wore long pants and put everything that had gotten too tight away. I am tickled with my find. I still want a few new tops to go with some of the colors because I don't like the tops I got to wear with them but I am happy with what I have because it was one of my favorite brands, and they have since changed the way that they make this style, and I don't like it now.
On Monday, a criminal being booked at the local police station was being transported to a holding facility when he took down the officer, putting him in the car, stole the cruiser, and took off. A chase ensued that lasted over an hour and involved local police, State Troopers, State Highway Police, and the police department from the next town, where he also ventured. A State Trooper was eventually able to perform a PITT maneuver and cause the escapee to wreck, where he was surrounded and rearrested. During the arrest, one of the local police officers who had been following him the whole time was hit by a police car from the neighboring town at 45 mph. All the news ever said was that he was taken to the trauma hospital in critical condition. Later, the suspect was identified, but they never said anything else about the police officer who was hit, and just repeated the two sentences that he was hit by a cruiser from a neighboring town and was in critical condition. More and more info came out about what happened to allow the suspect to escape and what went on with the chase, but always just those two lines about the injured officer. Yesterday, they finally identified the officer. I guess he was finally awake and able to talk. His parents and siblings are deceased, but they lived in south Mississippi, so I don't guess anyone knew who or where to look to contact family, so they just didn't say anything. Come to find out, it was my daughter's ex-husband. He used to work for the drug K-9 interdiction unit of the county sheriff's department so we didn't expect it to be him. He had retired and recently taken a job as a part-time officer at the local police department. He gave an interview with local TV yesterday and said that the hospital had put him back together and he was expected to recover, but it would likely take a year or more to get back to walking since it had crushed his leg, and it was only connected by a small part of sinew. He had other injuries, but they expected all of them to heal sooner. Grateful that he made it.

Shuttle taking me to the airport at 11. Only about 10 minutes from here.
Because I'm a mileage member, I get 2 passes a year to the United lounge. Once I'm through security et al, I'll park myself in there until boarding time...food, comfortable seating and quiet.
Hotel was nice
Hoping the gabapentin helps Mr.Carlson.
Lost...then, found one of my hearing aids. I ordered food from a local restaurant. When I was done eating, I wrapped everything up and put it in the trash in my room. Later, I realized that one of my hearing aids was missing. I knew it had to be in here and looked everywhere with no luck. There was only one more place.to look. I had swept one of the aids that was sitting on the table in here, into the trash with the stuff I was throwing away! Thank God I hadn't already taken the garbage to the big garbage can down the hall!! Huge win!!
