The easiest way to avoid regrets is to ask yourself this question, "If not now, when?" It's a powerful way to put life and our decisions about how we spend our time into perspective"
My day

(This is my post on Les Frenchies. One woman commented on how vivid they are. Can't wait to see them after my cataract surgery because each one is blurred to ne!)
My 12 day of my 12th visit to Paris. Leaving Thursday for home. This lengthy trip was designed to be long and 'luxurious.' My idea of luxury is to do whatever I want to do, even if that means doing nothing! LOL
I set out around noon and stopped at Cafe Mabillon for a quick bite. Nothing special but 2 of the female servers recognize me now and it's fun exchanging pleasantries with them.
I decided last night that I wanted to add a little something to my old tattoo of the Eiffel Tower. Because of my concerns for my own country, I wanted 'Liberte', Egalite' and Fraternite written above it with a simple flower chain. I have 5 tattoos and was stunned when I was told it would cost between €200 and €300 . That was nuts so I said no!
I walked to the courtyard alongside Saint-Germain-des-Pres. I sat for awhile watching a homeless man feeding a flock of pigeons. Periodically, a huge black bird (I'm telling you it didn't look or sound like the crows at home. It looked like a raven to me but IDK if there are ravens in Paris. Wasn't a grackle either. ) would swoop in and the pigeons would run/fly and huddle up. The big bird would catch the bread as the man threw it. It had green bands around his legs. The man and I made eye contact and smiled at the antics. I gave him 5€ and said it was for the birds. He thanked me and very seriously spoke in broken English, " people don't know how to give or share much anymore. They don't think of what other creatures need." I knew he was talking about the birds, and not himself.
Then, I took the bus to Parc Monceau, a favorite place of mine. If the lottery ever comes through for me, I want to buy an apartment overlooking the Parc. I watched a lot of kids playing ( not a tablet or phone in sight for the kids) I watched lots of dogs walk by. A beagle, my signature dog, won my heart. ( I REALLY MISS MY CATS AND DOGS!)
I took the bus back to the 6th. I stopped in a boulangerie and got a quiche for supper, stopped for a drink during Happy Hour and came home to my Airbnb.
The weather was perfect today and has been good this whole trip, a week in Italy and 2 weeks here. I told my niece, "I'm ready to go home but I'm not ready to leave Paris!"
So, today, I pretended Paris was my home!
Sounds wonderful
